The church
Öland was already christened during the 11th.
The church in Böda had three floors. Above the actual church room was larder and warehouse since Böda was an important marketing center.
The church was also refuge during times of war. The church in Böda was built from limestone during the 12th century but was rebuilt in the 13th century.
In 1603 the church was burnes and had to be re-bult totally. The churches wire orienten east-west, the graves shall be made so you can "look" to the east. Böda was a so-called regal (royal) parish which menat the vicar was appointed by the kring, which was unique.
